The Mysteries and Curiosities Map is all about Lab exploration, encouraging JPL’s employees to discover the Lab (and its culture) through 9 themed walking tours. RESULTS: Personally approved and overseen by the Lab’s Director, the Mysteries Map was given to all employees at the Lab’s 76th birthday party. It is still given to every new employee and intern at orientation.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Talk of the Studio documented overhead quotes in Nokia’s Advanced Design creative studio for an entire year. Here’s how it worked: If I overheard an interesting word, phrase, or conversation, I wrote it down. At the end of each week, I would send this collection quotes to the entire studio in an email. All quotes are anonymous, appeared in the order in which they were said, any anybody could submit a quote to appear in the email. I did this reflective exercise everyday for a year, and gave the resulting book to all my colleagues at our Holiday party. DOWNLOAD the book</image:caption>

<image:caption>Instead of a real secret santa with real gifts, try a fictitious one. Created for the Holiday Issue of the ADQ, a quarterly magazine created at Nokia for reflecting, archiving, and improving the design process, this secret santa list was easy to create. An email was sent to everyone in the studio with an alphabetical list of names. Each person was then asked to write what they would want to give the person below them. Each request was sent individually to me, and then formated in the magazine DOWNLOAD the Holiday Issue</image:caption>

<image:caption>Co-authored with Rhys Newman, VP of Nokia’s Everyday Adventure design team. This essay looks at some of the characteristics that fosters happy, healthy, and creative teams (hint: No Dickheads!). The article gained over 13,000 clicks in its first 3 days and was the #1 most read article on Medium for 1 week! While the essay covers tips on on how to foster studio culture, it’s also a sincere love letter to great teams!</image:caption>

<image:caption>It’s increasingly easy to outsource HR departments, but difficult to understand the nuances of workplace culture.
